That alchemist reminds me of the scientist girl in "How a realist prince rebuilt the kingdom", same lack (or lowered sense) of care for anything around them that isn't related to their job/interest

This chapter has all the hallmarks of 'We didn't get cancelled after all, so let's dive into a completely different kind of magic that I never got around to exploring'. It also shows that the mangaka spent another ten minutes on Wikipedia, in lieu of coming up with anything actually creative, since there wasn't really much thought on exactly what alchemy might entail up until now. Congrats, MC, you have once again accidentally recreated Stone Age technology, this time by the precise alchemical magic of heating something up slowly.

Yeeeaaahhhh.... This is the home way of making maple syrup that is not going to work on a sales level. The real deal uses large square evaporators for efficiency and even spread of heat. Also, depending on how much sugar is in the sap because of a lot of factors, it can take 20 to 100 gallons of sap to make one (1) gallon of syrup. That pot is going to boil down to barely anything.
And you never showed the filtering as promised but maybe that's the manga leaving that out.
