This Valentino guy better turn out to be the stories main villian or they wasted way too much time with this arc. Is the author a boat racing fanatic? Because if you are going to run the standard tournament arc, at least make it either very enjoyable, short, or very indepth with its character building to give a more rounded cast. This is none of them. There is only MC, his "daughter", and the current arc's temp FMC insert which maybe will get a bonus panel of relevance once this arc is over.

MC is basically Ash Ketchum going from region to region with his goal being to do something big but vague timing wise as to when it actually happens. All with a replaceable cast of side characters.

This is slow life manga, a lot of characters don't usually make by arc more than one appearance in this one.

It certainly is stupid, it's obvious enough that they realized the attempts at preventing her participation in the competition, but..
Not bringing up the guy as the main suspect despite that deal being rather recent and knowing he really doesn't want her to win,
along with knowing he's enough of a bigshot to have/use enough people to do those things.
(ESPECIALLY when the others folded and just started sabotaging them too, that was a dead giveaway.)


At this rate, next one of them need to be taught you shouldn't try breathe below the watersurface if you want to avoid getting water inside your lungs. -.-
Hope this arc is over soon since their stupidity is unusually annoying in it, though with the current pacing it seems quite possible this could get dragged on for some time.

Everyone might realize they're stopping two specific teams from having a chance at winning, but that's not really cheating unless it's forbidden by rules.
Cheating is exploiting rules , breaking rules or getting unfair /unplanned advantages.

They're merely throwing the match to prevent someone else from winning.
Unsportsmanlike , sure.
Cheating ? Unless, there was one who could remote-control them or their boats to do it, no.

@MistLynx : you need a reputation to attract students, a reputation needs accomplishments. Making the golem that wins the race is a notable accomplishment

@JavelinJoe : the original web novel has over 2400 chapters, over like 66 arcs this arc (#3) has 23 WN chapters.
