the mc is dumb enough to get dragged into someone else's problems but doesnt have the balls to end them for some reason, he had the capability to shoot down or at least stop the golem the villain was riding and loli droid was op enough to stop monsters and other golems but suddenly was stopped by some small fry and cant capture the bad guy, this story telling goes from boring to incompetent in this ark.

And so, yet another ship has sunk. Onto the next monster"heroine-of-the-week", so to speak.

Ah, yes, the typical one dimensional, axe-crazy isekai villain. Just needs a mustache to twirl while giving his evil laugh.

This story arc is incredibly boring. Also, has the art quality been declining?

@zeroxjac

This is the problem with OP MC stories. The authors, always... ALWAYS fail at actually integrating the OP MC and giving them realistic challenges. Instead they just keep dumbing down the MC or introduce rival after rival who are supposedly slightly stronger than the MC every fucking time despite that the MC is supposed to be a unique existence of power.

@zeroxjac , @Kayriel - just because MC is an awesome craftsman and his loli is stronger than a dragon, doesn't mean they are professional crime-fighters, bodyguards or members of any other profession that is good at acting under pressure in chaotic situations.
The head noble commanded them to prioritize saving the people, and that's what they did. It was probably the right decision, or at least a decision one would not regret.
You can always catch the villain later, but you can only save people here and now, otherwise they'll die.

That's the difference between capable protagonist and a Mary Sue.

@flannan

The POINT was that they've shown feats and potential far beyond what they're displaying now, and even seem to be struggling. This is extremely common in isekai, especially.

@Kayriel - Only one person on site has demonstrated any measure of speed and agility needed for chasing or fighting hordes of golems - Reiko the Ultimate Automata. But there is only one of her, so she can't both give chase and protect her father. And it's obvious which of them takes priority for her.

@flannan Mc literally shoot lasers out of his hands and one shot multiple golems in this chapter but didnt even try to stop the villain and just stood there talking, he didnt need ta capture him himself, he could just shoot down the golem and let the guards do their jobs but retardation took over them and just didnt even try, and btw the order to protect the civilians came after they let the dude go and had a little time wasting conversation and then BOTH started one shooting golems.

@zeroxjac - what makes you think MC is a good shot? Sure, it's hard to miss a Death Serpent when you don't care what else you hit. Fighting in crowded conditions is a lot harder.

@flannan they werent in a crowded place, they where in the VIP seats and the villain was right in front of him with no one near them, also MC just head shoot a golem in this same chapter in a crowded environment so yeah, he has the chance and the skill but let him go away.

Probably because I don't remember all the details of the previous chapters, but I don't get what the antagonist was even trying to do. Why did he hide the contraband in someone else's boat and what does winning the race have to do with it? Confusing, or I am dumb dumbs.

@captain_crunch - Valentino was involved in uranium Elradite smugging.
He used Cygnus, an easy to recognize catamaran, as a drop-off point, to avoid making direct contact with the smugglers. It's a common technology known as "dead drop".
Cygnus was peacefully sitting in a dock all the time, and it was fine. But now it was suddenly taken out for a competition, and there was a high chance the contraband was going to be discovered.
His plan A was to marry the girl in charge of the boat and get the boat and the beautiful girl too. This didn't work out.
So his plan B was making the girl sell off the Cygnus to pay off her debts. But she managed to get into a race with a huge prize.
So he had to sabotage the race to ensure she doesn't win. Or at least sabotage her boat so that the contraband would not be found.
To make things worse, his sabotage was found out, and a more important noble got involved. He might have nobled his way out of the situation, but chose to flee using a horde of rampaging golems as a cover.
Now he's joining forces with a suspicious person to have his revenge.

I guess he could have ordered the items stolen instead, but he didn't have any thieves he could trust with elradite and a proof of his treason.
