@Epicredeemer The profile of the plane reminds me so much of the Bell P-59 that I suspect the artist googled something along the lines of "early jet plane" and went with that. Also there are so many ways to kill yourself in a plane. A parachute does not even begin to cover it. Like, do you know your flight ceiling? What's your stall speed? How high are those gently sloping hills over there really? Oh you don't know? Well... bye.

I think this is one of those occasions were the manga is better than the novel, mostly cuz the novel has a lot of description of him making shit,and yes thats the point of the story, but it gets boring and repetitive. The manga on the other hand can show you the characters around the mc and how they react and behave about the things he make so that keeps the feeling fresh

I wonder how slow that jet is, around 300-600 kmh I'm guessing. The wing design isn't very good for anything above that iirc, it was what fighters used in ww2. Tho if he was making it to have a recon plane then I guess a slower aircraft is useful for more time to gather info as you go above somewhere.

@BatuMenhir - he doesn't have knowledge to make proper suspension. So he built what he does best - golem parts.

@Epicredeemer - MC isn't supposed to be a well-trained engineer. Just a jack-of-all trades with broad knowledge of modern technology. Things he makes mostly work through brute force, not refined design.

The author is basically saying "guns are too dangerous/immoral, but its fine if I give a sharp object that can cut through anything to a robot that has already demonstrated zero appreciation for the value of human life."

Long time novel reader here (as in, since chapter 1 of the novel was first translated) and I've always had the impression that the author just skims a Wikipedia article for most stuff, then fills in the blanks with magic to gloss over the rest, like "magi silver" to replace composites and "magi thrusters" to replace the inner workings of various types of jet engines, etc. Consider 'rule of cool' to be in full effect here, if only because the author doesn't do much research.
