In fact, threading that in-between different ways Shade fouls Dandilion and their talks afterwards would have been fantastic, especially if they also saved the "You're a probie, probie" exchange between Peony and Shade at the tail of the probationary period. "I can finally tell you why I've been harshing on your mellow these three months, Tanpopo. Y'see, back when you 'saved' Peony..."
Heck, I'm almost tempted to write a fanfic that basically does that, because the concepts here are pretty gold.
