Please author, please. Give us a proper romance. It's fine if it's slow, just please don't let this end with an open ending or something.

Elena is adorable and deserves to get her man.

the below is in a spoiler because I have been banned previously by guessing at stuff without using a spoiler. I was wrong about my guess and yet I was banned for a year or so a few months after I made that comment.
TLDR: just a guess. I don't know anything, I only know the English language.

I dunno. Protagonist seems like he's damaged goods and revels in it like a pig in mud. He's using work to keep his mind occupied to not think about it too. A person like that needs help before romance.

but then again that could just be me projecting.

I think you're right. But as I said I do not mind if it's slow. I hope the author will give us healing and then a proper romance :)

He's already been in the process of healing. What he needs next is acceptance.
Plus, from what we've seen, his "injury" (to continue the metaphor) is burnout. Possibly severe burnout. It's far from pleasant, but it doesn't need as intensive treatment as, say, direct emotional and/or physical abuse. Treating burnout doesn't generally require opening old wounds and rearranging the insides. Treating occupational burnout typically requires time, calm, and emotional reinvigoration (slowly allowing oneself to feel more). Might also require varying degrees of perspective shift and re-adapting to the human mental baseline, but again, those aren't super intensive. They just take time and a little effort (from both the individual in question and those around them).

I'm fairly certain he's just really burnt out. Possibly severely burnt out. But that doesn't seem likely to make him see himself as "damaged goods" - not without something else going on as well. He was forced to give too much of himself to his job, so now he needs to "become himself" again (if that makes sense?).

Someone who sees themselves as "damaged goods" would likely have gone through something more. "Damaged" implies that the individual sees themselves as "broken", which is typically associated with "having received a blow". Someone caused the individual to feel that way (someone external, I mean).
So far we haven't seen any indication that MC has been harmed in that manner.

That aside, I hope you're doing alright (and if you're not, I hope things get better).

I'm guessing RESET SCANS stopped posting here after the big crackdown a few months ago, as the last thing they uploaded to mangadex for anything was on 5/17/2025.

For this manga they have up to chapter 76 on their website, which is the season 1 finale, and that was released 2 months ago.
cmon why is every good thing comes to an end without an end
Don't know if they're ever going to start posting their translations here again, but I see that Reset Scans is now translating Season 2 on their website.

I'm kind of new here, what happened at the big crackdown?

Lots of translations across the website were removed back in May 2025 due to publishers being mean with lots of DMCA takedown requests. It doesn't look like reset-scans was hit, but since they stopped right around the same time it seemed suspicious.
