It feels like an asspull, but even very early in the series, the author already made it clear she’s the queen of memorisation so it checks out
I hope it's incorrect though.
I'm fine with the way author try to create a plot armor, but this one is not for me. It's stupid.
.
but then again, this is shounen...
I always find it a bit frustrating when an author conflates an excellent memory with a photographic one. I've always been able to recall exact details about most things I read or saw or felt decades ago...but I'll be damned if I can remember where I parked this morningIt feels like an asspull, but even very early in the series, the author already made it clear she’s the queen of memorisation so it checks out
Indeed, many people swiftly acquire and retain an enormous amount of information without doing so with images; and some people whose memories are primarily visual either don't acquire a great deal of information in the first place or don't retain it. But many notable cases have existed of people with rapid acquistion and enduring retention of large amounts of information in visual form. So my position is to agree with your primary point, but to give authors a pass on conflating the two without their making explicit that they have done so.I always find it a bit frustrating when an author conflates an excellent memory with a photographic one. Admittedly adrenaline rush has a way of changing the way memories are processed (usually making them more detailed and at a higher frame rate), but still...it's definitely a cop-out here.
