I hope it's incorrect though.
I'm fine with the way author try to create a plot armor, but this one is not for me. It's stupid.
.
but then again, this is shounen...

Hacking the chip was the obvious solution. And here I was hoping she'd have to cut off his hand or something. There's gotta be some cost to the victory....:02:

I work in aviation and I've seen serial numbers for equipment written under their barcodes so I guess this is perfectly natural.
What isn't natural is being able to memorize a 13 character string on a moving target flying through the air within 1 second. Heck, I know a guy that could probably remember a 13 character string after reading it once, but even that guy would need to read it while its not moving, and have a second or two to commit it to memory.

It feels like an asspull, but even very early in the series, the author already made it clear she’s the queen of memorisation so it checks out
I always find it a bit frustrating when an author conflates an excellent memory with a photographic one. I've always been able to recall exact details about most things I read or saw or felt decades ago...but I'll be damned if I can remember where I parked this morning :korone:

Admittedly adrenaline rush has a way of changing the way memories are processed (usually making them more detailed and at a higher frame rate), but still...it's definitely a cop-out here.

Indeed, many people swiftly acquire and retain an enormous amount of information without doing so with images; and some people whose memories are primarily visual either don't acquire a great deal of information in the first place or don't retain it. But many notable cases have existed of people with rapid acquistion and enduring retention of large amounts of information in visual form. So my position is to agree with your primary point, but to give authors a pass on conflating the two without their making explicit that they have done so.
