Yeah he definitely didn’t have a normal upbringing and it shows often. But he seems to have a good heart despite the environment he was raised in

Hmm I wonder if what’s going on with Hirotsugu has anything to do with Machida/Nishi. It sounds like his whole family was killed or die horrifically but despite that he had a “pure soul” and wasn’t liked by demons because he’s just too emotionally well adjusted for demons lol. I assume he was adopted when news spread about a kid left behind as a sole survivor of an horrific event and then he was adopted. The two of them met after Machida/Nishi killed his own father and turned up at the unions door. At this time he would have had powers and they’re both kids… I wonder if he’s been meddling to keep Hirotsugu from being able to form contracts with demons since they were younger…

Probably not. Hirotsugu already had the condition when they first met. Instead of a pure soul it's more that Hirotsugu is emotionally deficient to the point of being unable to experience trauma. The emphasis on ZERO value indicates that he's a special kind of person. A soul should either have high or low value, not straight out zero. This makes Hirotsugu sort of an anti-magic being. He's probably akin to a Sister of Silence in 40k.

Probably not. Hirotsugu already had the condition when they first met. Instead of a pure soul it's more that Hirotsugu is emotionally deficient to the point of being unable to experience trauma. As of this chapter, we're not sure what led to Hirotsugu's inability to retain his past emotions, so we think of below 2 cases:

+ If it had been present even before he saw what happened to his whole family: Depersonalization-Derealization Disorder (DPDR) – People may feel detached from their emotions and memories, making it hard to recall how they felt about past events.

+ If it is after he saw what happened to his whole family: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) – Trauma can cause emotional numbing or gaps in emotional memory, making past feelings hard to access.

Sorta makes me wonder about the union's attitude towards him.

The way he acts around Kinuko and Haruki makes me think they'd totally eat him alive, but the way some members complained about him makes me think he's in some way hard for them to deal with.

Wonder what he's like when dealing with people he actively dislikes.
