You know... Now that I'm reading this again, I was thinking... Couldn't Negi have used telepathy with the Pactio card to ascertain whether that Asuna was real or not? Nodoka's mind-reading didn't work because the fake genuinely believed herself to be Asuna, but the Pactio card that Negi has definitely isn't linked to the fake, so there was no need to fucking steal Fate's girl. Poor guy already has so few compared to ChadNegi, it's kinda sad at this point.

@Doodads Fake Asuna could use her artifact, so it isnt a stretch to say that she could use the pactio telepathy, and let's say that even then there is the possibility of real Asuna intercepting the telepathy she is too far away for that.

The only real tell until now was that she didn't have the aura of magic cancel, because that is undoubtedly more difficult to replicate.

And as it was confirmed with Chacha, pactios are made as a link with the soul.
