No no Baiser, dark magical girl has always been good.

The idea of a Magical Girl hunt does turn my stomach a bit.

Magical Girls are, traditionally, in their mid-teens. I don't like the idea of women being hurt or killed in the first place, and teenage girls even less.

I like Baiser, because she might be a pervert, but she has no interest in actually hurting Tres Magia.

I want more info on it, like were they really killed or just had their powers taken away or something. Especially since we have two that took part in it, so feels a bit odd not to elaborate on it. Course I don't want to be premature when later chapters might just address this.

That's why shows like Madoka, Nanoha, etc are great. In any universe that makes any remote amount of a sense some bad guy trying to conquer the world or whatever WILL hurt or even kill those trying to stop them, including magical girls. So next time you're sitting down and enjoying a more "fluffy" magical girl show just imagine how much collateral damage all of that magical combat would cause in reality, and the fact that the only thing keeping the world remotely safe is a bunch of children that put themselves between you and death on a daily basis. Magical girls are an inherently dark concept regardless of how fluffy many popular depictions of them may be.

Honorable mention: Manga I can't remember the name of where an extremely buff middle aged man insists on becoming a magical girl in place of a little girl who's like, 6.

And now I'm curious, if you ever remember or re-find it could you please mention it here so the rest of us can check it out?

Okay, seriously though, Berserga needs therapy. Urgently. Like, VERY urgently.

This girl is showing so many extreme signs of awful mental health that its not even funny, it just makes me feel genuinely bad. I usually like the crazy, depressed and psychologically broken characters, but the way she clings to Shion is a bit too real and REALLY rubs me the wrong way. This is the kind of person who would instantly kill herself without hesitation if Shion died, and that's a problem. Honestly from how she looks, I doubt she's even able to function as a human being without Shion around.
From what it looks like, either Shion is a Makima, or she became Berserga's object of admiration without trying to and simply doesn't know what to do about it now. If it's the second there's some really interesting emotional development the author could make with them, but if it's the first then redeeming her would be really hard, so she'd probably end up being a full on antagonist.
