^ this will be how the arc develops. it was revealed to me. That or she tries "revealing" that Majeri is actually a boy or smthn.
Also tbh I don't think any media "needs" to depict something as unhealthy or harmful. Not everything needs to be a morality play. And maybe this is the himejoshi in me talking, but usually possessiveness plots end up resolving with "Yeah it's bad and isolating to try and prevent anything which COULD lead to your partner leaving or cheating on you." Maybe I'm biased from almost exclusively reading yuri though.
And anyways... jealousy is something that a lot of people do feel over those they're attracted to? Especially when you feel like the only bond you have with someone is tenuous and someone who's "a better fit" for them comes along. And for some, especially tgirls, it can honestly be comforting to have someone be possessive over you, to a degree. It's an affirmation that you're irreplaceable to someone, that they'll actually fight for you to stay with them. Eradicating jealousy isn't productive, but controlling it and focusing it onto things that benefit your partner can be useful. I.e. "I don't want them to look at anyone but me," can be harmful when it's cutting others off, but if it manifests as just doing your best for their sake... as long as you're not destroying yourself over it, it can be kinda cute.
