@mintcinno No, I think you're getting Marisa confused with one of her original roommates. Marisa was one of the nobles who liked the blond fire guy and was mad the mc was sitting next to him. Later they became friends after the mc cheered her up when she got rejected by Alves/Alwes or whatever blond fire guy's name is.

@starred1 Yeah exactly, that’s the Marisa I’m talking about, I’m not confusing her with Benjamin (her roommate). In the first chapter we see Marisa getting upset with Nanari sitting next to him but later on when they’re assessing their elements we see Nanari saying that Marisa matches the Fire element because she’s always wearing red insinuating their good relationship since she was smiling (where she finds out she has ice powers too) But in the second chapter there’s a flashback where we see the strained relationship become friendly after Nanari shows that snowglobe/ice magic of hers, which is the confusing part...how can she know ice magic BEFORE she became friends with Marisa when previous chapter clearly shows she finds out she’s an ice user AFTER she’s friends with Marisa?????

@mintcinno She's not friends with her just because she smiled while thinking red matches Marisa with her fire element. She's just weirdly easy going about the people around her(or at least the girls) who either weren't that nice to her or just didn't get along with her. Even the nobles. So she doesn't really mind stuff that happened and they never specifically showed anything directly with Marisa(bad stuff I mean). It's implied I think because she's a noble, likes the blond, and her general attitude although maybe Marisa said somethin about her that first day, I can't remember. Anyway they're only friends afterward when mc cheered her up after getting rejected.

Just gonna chime in and say that I actually LIKE their dynamic, so far. It's not shoujo tripe like "oh he's SUCH a bother" *fusses over him all the time*, they really act like believable buddies and rivals and they don't hesitate to compete with each other physically. The fact that he smacked her into a wall or that she almost froze his arm off showcases that they're significantly tougher than ordinary students, so it seems like they're just roughhousing it. Well, SO FAR, at least.

This manga is fine and all, the MC is really cute. Why does the male lead have to be a dick tho, I don't get why people like this sort of character.... The only part I liked about their interactions so far is the part where they "accidentally" hit each other in the classroom. Doesn't change the fact that he's kinda a douche tho.

Their dynamic is going to be very annoying if he's the ML. At some point, they will have to acknowledge that he's just a narcissist. If you like someone but cant stop treating them like shit, it doesn't mean you're cute, it means you need therapy. And if you like someone who treats you like shit no matter what, well...you probably need therapy too.
