Does this manga have somewhere to be? The amount of time skipped already is amazing, lol.

It kinda sucks that the manga translation has overtaken that novel translation after only three chapters.

But thanks for the translation!

@Nep - no, I don't think so.

In the novel it's pretty clearly said that he would/could never be with a commoner. The major plot point I've referencing relates to that.

Alves is like "I can't marry you if you don't become an accomplished individual, and you can't do that as a receptionist."

What the heck was that men's competition hahaha. I wish we could've at least seen an undignified Alves from this one at least 😆

@BanditHadron That said real life competitions aren't generally based on magic so like... the reasoning for it being split is kinda dumb.

Then again, the boys competition wasn't based on magic either, which in it's own right is even stupider.

The gender plot point is just plain stupid. The men’s competition is magic-free flag football, sans ball? Then the magic duels are separated by gender? They’re arbitrarily not giving a rival fight, something that might actually generate interest, and using the stupidest reasons for it.

I guess I shouldn’t expect better given the premise, but come on.

Well tbh I feel like this is an end of school festival disguised as a contest, essentially a sports fair where ladies don't use elegant and refined magic while bots wrestle.
Essentially the opposite of what half of schools do now for senior sport days with buff puff and powder puff

@BanditHadron And yet the male and female competitions are usually roughly equivalent. In this case, the male competition was given an enormously simpler/easier task, and yet that task was given equal weighting to the enormously difficult female task with a huge moral quandary.

This series also demonstrates that, given equal grades, the male is ALWAYS chosen in the tie-breaker. Every single time the female protagonist and the male antagonist get perfect grades, he is ALWAYS given the top spot.

Does this not all seem super sexist to you? That the females are forced to work much harder to achieve the same rewards, and their achievements are given less weight and merit than the males?

5 years of magical academy just to be a receptionist? I know that's her goal but I felt the requirement to learn offensive magic is a little forced.

I just hope this isn't end in "You win me, you win first place in my heart," and stuff like that.

@Xross24 Lockman isn't the prince, he's a duke's son. The black hair dude is the prince.
