I'm in full agreement with the artist here: Their relationship is really grating (they aren't nice to each other, and he's fundamentally an ass) but also sort of charming in it's own questionable way.
I'm basically counting on character growth to make the relationship acceptable. Luckily the boy does seem to be behaving gradually a bit better as time goes on...? And with a bit more work he could be ground down to being something half-respectable.
@ThunderaMaou: One of the things that hasn't been clear to me is how physically abusive their relationship is or isn't. They're clearly not operating on the same level we are physically, and it seems like that school of theirs is at least somewhat combat-oriented. When he hurls her into a wall (out of jealousy?) in a previous chapter, for instance, I couldn't tell whether that was actually as fucked up as it looks, or whether it was just childish and crass. I'm missing context. (As for emotionally abusive—I'm not sure. Seems complicated, especially with the whole rivalry thing. I myself wouldn't want him as a boyfriend, though, certainly.)
