So... they're trying to track down somebody who used magic from a distance. Magic leaves a trace of sparkles from the caster to where the magic hits. But somehow, nobody thought to follow that trail back to the caster?????

@seekermoc No one can see magic except Jill and Leonard. As for why Leonard didn't think to follow the traces, it seemed trivial to do so because they were thinking of conventional ways that magic is used. Seems like no one has ever tried reflecting magic before, so it's something entirely new. Only reason Lily thought of it is because of her memories from her past life.
