What's with the litany of brusque trollishness in the last few posts? o.o; Or maybe this whole comment section... Is it that a bunch of isekai addicts came here expecting another harem or something?
Sorry guys. At it's core, this is only a few steps removed from being a slow-burn family-cohabitation-romance shoujo (Or rather, a mash-up of that and the romance-with-a-strange-magician line of romances). Slow romance is the order of the day, and I think most of us who enjoy such things are basking in it ~w~
...
In other news, I'd have said this is one of the more valid reasons for having a painfully slow relationship (Forcibly and irrevocably separated from another lover, but knowing—or at least reasonably assuming—that the person you loved is still alive). But the series sort of plays down the tragic aspects of it (aside from letting us know that our protagonist is pretty torn up about it) so it doesn't always feel real; sometimes I think the protagonist comes off as rather kind of pointlessly stubborn as a result. I think it works out for the best, though; frankly, the mood of the series would be kind of squashed if it dwelled on the tragedy side too much.
