I mean, kinda same? Even Alice there didn't say more than "we'll look for Iruma together". That's, at most, a very definitive polycule thing, than any particular romantic affection he feels for Clara.

And at the least, it is just declaring that they would remain (all three of them) besides one another, and look for ways to bring whoever might leave back together with the rest.

He didn't deny that Iruma is the thing that keeps them together, and a much better question is whether they would even be together if Iruma was never around (before or after). The answer is a very clear no, but making her not wonder over hypotheticals and value the weird yet strong relationship between all three of them (and maybe helping her realize the bonds she has with some of the girls in the Misfit class as also valuable relationships) would be a stronger resolution over this one.

To me, it glosses over the core of Clara's issue, not having fit anywhere before and fearing to return to that, to focus on the specifics of losing her most precious relationship besides her family - and feels equally as weird as the resolution of the long-eared tribe's issues. A resolution that isn't actually addressing the core of the issue, yet with the presentation showing them as definitive.

At least the core of the writing remains enjoyable.

I’m starting to hate you people that see poly every bloody were! like did you NOT READ 300+ chapters for you to not realize in the beginning Iruma had to explain what friends are? and best friends is the soul mate equivalent! how to turn a friendship into a bloody garbage sexual/romantic relationship!

Or you gonna also say they are ace too or some shit like that?

Man the translation of "soul mates" really was dragging down this otherwise fantastic chapter. Demons don't have the concept of friendship let alone a "true" or "best" friend, so for him to acknowledge Clara as such was big character and relationship progression for him and Clara. And is not a direct declaration of love to her but rather a very strong foundation to allow those 2 to have a great and lasting relationship. As you read with their interaction is far more equal than what she and him have with Iruma.

I really hope they end up together!

The title sounds really bad but I assure you it's good. I won't force you to read it though if you want to judge a book by its cover. I understand since I also read too many isekai and this title sounds like a generic bland isekai manga. Even if you don't read it, I'm sure you'll hear about it from somewhere anyway. It's just good. Another really good story that has a trash-sounding title is a manhwa called "SSS-Class Suicide Hunter" and it's just really good. You may come across it sometime. If you learn to let go of preconceptions from past bad experiences with these kinds of titles or genre, you may come across god-tier stuff like these.

so we have to read garbage untill we find the right one? yeah no I’m gonna keep my preconceived notion because that helps me not read 98% of garbage and honestly i coudn’r care less that there is some 2% really good ones, if there is one really good them I’m hear from some one else but not gonna read them to find the good one

Sorry that my implication by saying "at most" is subtle for you. Because yes, effectively, it is a reach. That's the entire point of me qualifying it like that.

Specifically, for the people who might want to read into what Alice said as a romantic statement. Because the wider point of my comment is about how Alice isn't giving Clara any assurance that they would have a relationship like the one they have now without Iruma ever coming into their lives. Regardless of what people want to call it.

Labels are often approximations.

They call it "soulmates", because it works for them.
"Romantic" means something different to everyone, even.

That's fine, but on reread the love trio is not very subtle...
Their ever interaction is adorable and loving, no matter the type of love.

To be clear, this is the part I disagree with, because not every set of partners functions the same, and not all labels are the same, but I think if you reread with an eye on these three in specifics you go, it's... there.

I wasn't on the side of calling it "romantic" until I saw the exact nature of the confession scene.

Keep in mind: they're like 15. This is basically what dating looks like a lot of the time, anyway.

Hell, I don't think there was anyone I knew in high school who were dating that would nap with their partner (would not have been plural in the 90s in suburbia) in public, were that an option.

Things don't need to be "physical" for it to be a throuple.

I think it ends up with a whooooole lot of people 1 degree of separation from Iruma at most.
