Gotta love manga. Where the worst and most consistent behavior anyone can have is bottling up their feelings and not communicating. If Japan started taking to the idea that people can talk out their problems and work through them, the manga industry would collapse because there would be no more melodrama plots.

That maybe the original fiancee didn't hate her, but actually broke it off because he didn't like her but also noticed she wasn't really happy with him...

Maybe the mom even is willing to acknowledge that her son isn't suited to being king and is trying to toughen the tyke up....

I mean... I doubt the author would have that much intelligence....

But a man can hope..
