Not gonna lie, I'm getting really damn tired of these genderswap manga. They keep acting like suddenly heterosexual people can just decide to be not heterosexual anymore and that there's a super large amount of gays out there and that there are absolutely no problems at all with gays that set them apart from straights and it's just not true. While your sexuality is not entirely (or even mostly) genetic, by the time you enter puberty it's pretty much not changing, and the majority of homosexual men report to having been sexually abused by the time they end puberty (which is a current running theory about causes of homosexuality in men). Generous estimates put homosexuality at most at around 4% of the population, but that tends to be oversampling biases and in general it's closer to under a quarter of a percent. Lastly, homosexual men tend to have a large number of STDs due to much more promiscuous behavior and homosexual women have extremely high rates of domestic violence. It's super annoying to see people just pretend this doesn't happen.
Just in case you weren't aware, over 43% of homosexual men in the US admit to having slept with over 500 partners in their life. Over 28% admit to having slept with over 1000. It's no wonder AIDS and other STDs are so prevalent amongst their communities.

Even in real life trans people tend to report change in sexuality after transitioning, heterosexual people turning Bi isn't even rare. Why talk about something you clearly know nothing about? You also don't seem to get that at least in this manga, both Rei and Eric liked guys from the start and their sexualities did not change with their biological sex, it was outright stated. Magic had nothing to do with it.

@dojinshi It's mostly a problem in general I have about the portrayal of homosexuality in manga. It's fine to have homosexual characters and I have no problem with homosexuals in real life, but manga centered around questions of sexuality and gender tend to just completely ignore reality and pose questions and concepts totally at odds with how it really is in real life. In reality, these communities have real problems that everybody just ignores, and they're almost entirely unrelated to stigma against them and entirely related to their lifestyle choices.
As to the sources, you can do a short google search and find these statistics yourselves. It's better that way, you'll find out a lot about those kinds of communities. Things are not all sunshine and roses for the gays, and it ain't because the redneck down the street is coming around with a shotgun.

You'd literally have to go across the world to even get close to that many partners. Studies have shown that gay people have just as many partners as straight people. The only reason that gay people are more likely to spread STDs is because the way that they do it is simply more conductive than heterosexual sex.

@Infiking I do believe there is a thing called "Grindr" that helps gay men find other gay men, and on this app they typically hook up for one night stands. This can easily help one find a great many partners if they happen to live in cities, where they're more likely to move to escape their conservative parents anyway if Reddit is to be believed. And before Grindr, there were gay bars.
It's really not very hard to believe, if you have 20 one night stands a year, then after 20 years you'll have had 400 partners. You'll find these rates amongst more promiscuous women on Tinder as well, but, well, rumor has it that women are more choosy than men.

I did some sniffing and it seems those percentages are from 1978, two years before the 80’s, when AIDs was a big scare and became an epidemic in the USA.
With that context, it sounds like something someone would make to make homosexuals look like some sort of hedonistic sinner. People didn’t know how AIDs and HIV spread back then.
I remember Magic Johnson got accused of being in a secret gay relationship when he got it in 1991, when in reality, he was having lots of one night stands with fan girls or groupies.
Edit: basically, people thought HIV was something only gay people got.

I looked into this study of yours and there's so many errors that a fucking monkey could've done better. First of all, the data for the study was collected in 1969, far before any form of communication that allowed gay people to meet up to hook up. Secondly, people noted that the study was both based on a small population and was a non-random population based on convenience. In addition, critics even noted that the study "employing special pleading and circular reasoning, seeking to demonstrate preferred conclusions, and making misleading use of statistics". Thirdly, it was also noted that the study failed to use probability samples, meaning that the study couldn't be extrapolated to a wider population.
Of course you'd get such bullshit results from a study so badly designed. There's no randomization to the study, meaning that only the most prolific gay people were picked, while also having their tendencies magnified with a stupid questionnaires designed to fufill an agenda. I've seen better designed studies in a 9th grade statistics class, let alone professional studies. The only reason this study is even relevant is because it was the first to view gay people as an actual group. If this study came out today, it'd be eaten alive in a heartbeat. Also, another attempt to recreate the study in 1997 found a completely different result.
