For those unfamiliar with baseball, a "Squeeze" refers to a "squeeze bunt" (Which come in two varieties, Safety and Suicide Squeezes) which is bunting with less than two outs with a runner on third. The batter drops a bunt to give the runner on third a chance to score easily. Done properly, the only play the opposing defense has is to throw out the batter going to first so the opposing team trades an out for a run. In a one run game, it was an obvious play to make for the opposing wily old coach. To try and stop it Goro tried pitching around the pitching (ie, doing as much as possible to avoid the heart of the strike zone, even intentionally pitching outside the zone hoping an over aggressive batter will swing), bunts are difficult on such pitches and fouling on a bunt counts as a strikeout unlike a regular swing.

This is a proper safety squeeze, actually a dream safety squeeze. The opposing team doesn't even get the luxury of getting an out for their trouble.

Goro was hoping for something like this:

But wily old opposing coach is too smart for such simple minded baseball and correctly guesses the trick, so he just tells his hitter to be patient and walk
