Re-reading these early chapters in light of the anime and struck by, despite how leisurely placed the manga is, how much got left out. Dunno if it's an artifact of the platform this runs on, but most everything even mildly ecchi (and it's all really mild) is just blown by.

At this point this dude has nothing to complain about. He's been a no-lifer who probably did nothing but jerk off, and now he not only gets the attention of cute girls but is also involved in their problems and has the opportunity to actually get a social life.
I pray to God he doesn't fumble it 🙏

I expect he will set the losing heroines up as yuri couples and become a losing hero himself.

Had to comeback after watching episode 2 of the anime to confirm if I was misremembering or not. The anime writers really had dirty minds

The story beats are mostly the same, but the anime tends to compact a number of scenes that are presented more fully here. The biggest offender is probably the very beginning, where we don't even see the argument with Sosuke, just the aftermath. It does handle the climactic confrontation sequence between the three main players exceptionally well, though, probably even better than the manga. (The storeroom exchange with Remon is also rendered more fully and with greater realism in the anime than here...maybe even better than in the LN itself.)
