Straight up projecting all the things she wished she had the guts for when it happened to her.

You say that but it’s not like anything she said was wrong (minus the “just go out with him” bit but even she seems to understand and imply that was little more than a joke in poor taste), if little miss forehead actually had as much motivation to speak up as she had for stalking him like some freak this entire situation could’ve been avoided, yes Ayano is a dense prick but what did he do wrong? Not read his girlfriend’s mind? Not immediately assume asking the single female friend he has for advice on communicating with the opposite sex could be misconstrued as cheating? He took the logical approach to solving a problem and the people around him decided they’d rather let things play out than actually give their input and to no one’s surprise but their own, the situation blew up in everyone’s faces.

At least yamani had the resolve to do the right thing (even if it wasn’t “right” for her) and attempt to move on without getting involved any further, and stood her ground when her dense MC tried to pull the emotionally supportive best friend act.
