At the very least, it's a novel take on the MC being a dense motherfucker. Maybe, one time too often, the author read a comment under a lesser romcom to the effect of "How could MC miss a sign this obvious? Don't they have romcoms in this universe?" and set out to prove that comment wrong in particular. This MC does read romcoms, and it clearly isn't helping!

On the other i question why this was focused on to begin with if it was going to be resolved in a couple chapters
Is the fact that she subverted expectations supposed to make up for the lack of depth?

I also like the fact she's sharper than she lets on, and it gave me a smile to misread the typo as "Kawashima is shapelier than she lets on". (But that'll have to wait for the onsen chapter.)

Until it's proven otherwise I'd really prefer to think he doesn't wear her underwear… but after a reread, I have to echo it being weird that she knew about him impersonating her and didn't tell him to stop. Especially when she noticeably still doesn't tell him to stop doing it.

"I'm not the same me from the past anymore! That's why I want you to stop badmouthing others."

Usually it’s a bit of a cop-out to have conflicts resolved so quickly, but this time the level of convoluted BS that was about to happen got completely evaporated and I feel great about it.

I think this was a great resolution. He only cross dressed for things that she herself said she wasn't able to handle and that's been happening for a while but now she's proclaiming that she's stronger now and that he can ease up. That's character growth! So it may have been bullshit but it was a great way to show the character is moving and growing! Plus I like that it was Kawashima that resolved it not Kimura. She can fight her own battles and get results on her own. She's not a damsel in distress and her getting pulled around by Kimura on his romance manga shenanigans is an active choice and she's not just passively letting the story happen to her. I think that's pretty good!
