Who Is Catherine A Reference To?

No idea, I googled around but only found Catherine of Alexandria and Catherine of Siena, both saints in Christianity.

There is a painting at the Vatican called the gateway to purgatory, depicting a woman called Catherine, allowing passage to purgatory once you are in the afterlife, but this wouldn’t correspond either.

I thought it would also be associated with the divine comedy, but there are very few feminine names in there, none of them are Catherine.

glad i ended up being right about Imuri never really beaing meant to actually make him fall, just give him enough stressors to look for a way out with someone he cared about. road to hell is paved with good intentions
additionally, i find the separation of satan and lucifer interesting for him to be king of pride. seeing as biblically theyre normally depicted as one and the same or at most satan is treated as "the opposition". does this mean lucifer is stronger than satan since he used to be the right hand of god? interested to see where this goes from here

"Catherine of Alexandria" could fit.

The name Catherine in it's greek form means "pure". Asmodeus has a thing for corruption (well, all the demon lords do but) specifically shown as her wanting to make a girl hers during her backstory. Perhaps Catherine was "corrupted" into a demon along the same lines?

As for her powers, the result of hearing all that information would turn her into a treasure trove of valuable information. Almost like a Great Library...
