The two boys were lovers, and caught by the priest in a graveyard? It would explain the obsession and the unblinking stare as Virgil kissed his trainer. Also, fits the Sodom taunt, since it's commonly thought that the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was sodomy. I think raping guests is more likely to be that sin, especially if the guests are angels in disguise.
