Make the sidebar count as part of the reader screen

Is there a way to make the sidebar count as part of the reader for width calculations and whatnot so that it doesn't cover up part of a page?

Pinning it (top right button) stops it from floating and then if you want to retain the header it's the third option from the bottom in the sidebar
