An attitude like that, to be remorseless toward criminals and only consider the serious criminals he kills as things, not humans, is all fine and dandy, as long as everything goes well for him. But once he has killed the first innocent victim, what happens then? That is, killed the wrong person he only believed was the guilty one, due to his own mistake or maybe because he believed lies and fell for schemes. Or maybe he kills one such as himself, a victim who was killing murderers, but the MC didn't know about it, only witnessing someone kill "random" people.
But then again, this is a second-rate author, so I doubt there will ever be a scenario like that. After all, the author couldn't deal with the aftermath and probably knows it, so naturally he would never write such an arc.
