I've read the WN to the (I guess?) ending. Not sure if spoilers are desired or not at this pace. Also re-read page 4 of chapter 1 if you think any of this wasn't foreshadowed already.

Spoiler: Not much of a spoiler, simply setting general expectations.

This manga/wn (kek) is fairly light-hearted. Episodic slice-of-life of him addressing the problem-of-the-week. MC acts relatively relaxed; and yes there is a "harem".

But only in so much that he knows he is mature mentally; and understands the girls he cares for (in guardian sense) are children.

He sets up children's games for them to play; tries using his magics to make their lives happy, given unfortunate circumstances. Shield them from any harshness of reality. Act as a caretaker when they do things like paint a world map (due to trauma of loss of family). Helps destroy the evidence, in a way that preserves their self-esteem.

So more of their caring guardian than a lover.
