Well, that went predictably. There wasn't any indication of Mao losing the trinket (either in this chapter or the previous), so Jiu finding it and being clued in by that feels like the author was just desperate for an excuse to have him show up... as weak as the reason is, at least the rapists were stopped, and Jiu is surely going to be flabbergasted by that not-quite-confession, so that'll be funny at least.
