Oh no! Anyway.

you got em right, the others is just character development and relationship for mc, the other plus is seeing ibiza got his just dessert thoIf I recall correctly
the villain successfully mind controls the gyaru, but the MC steals her back with the power of love. Apparently, the gyaru has some bloodline ability that nullifies the control or something like that. I don't remember. The only plus in this whole arc (it's more or less a "character arc") is that the gyaru's mom gets the hots for the MC.
About the same reactions as half the people in this comment section it seemsWhy are they all reacting like there is nothing they can do, and the reaction is like looking at someone who is reaping what they sow. They are mind controlled victims. They do plan to try to save them right? He is just going around and mind controlling people, having them give him all their property and then selling them. Yet everyone is just like, oh well. The reactions of all the characters seeing this is just so weird.
I don't even know if I want to continue this one. It's so fucking stupid now. And the handwave preamble about demon inclinations is a built in hand wave to make these assholes the most cookie cutter tropes to gain reader sympathy for the protags.I am just gonna wait until this Arc done and binge read it, this arc sucked, nothing really happen, it keep going in circle.
A society which kept eating its own would collapse within a few generations. The author cannot have both a "regular" high school along with death every day. That is why the reactions are so jarring from a reader's perspective.Because they are DEMONS so yes, that is entirely natural or did the "demons are just humans with slight differences" have overridden what used to be the definition of a Demon?
People seem to have forgotten that, this is when there is a return like in Frieren were it gone back to watch a Demon was its refreshing instead of "human but with horns", even in this series they do remind they are demons and this is why, Yuuto being human serves as highlight the differences, nothing he is doing is considered among their society to be wrong.
The manga is over but to the point.A society which kept eating its own would collapse within a few generations. The author cannot have both a "regular" high school along with death every day. That is why the reactions are so jarring from a reader's perspective.
I am waiting for an author to make a compelling romance that also explores a "true" demon society. I wonder though if that is possible. I imagine demons would have some form of romance given the need to reproduce but wonder if it would resemble human society in any way. The solution you propose, to take a preexisting species and model them as intelligent while keeping their social structure intact, would probably best satisfy me.The manga is over but to the point.
Demons are malevolent supernatural creatures, right now it seems Demons are just humans with extras that completely negates their nature, Hell is just another place ... its boring because as you pointed out, there is no real difference since they are just humans with extras, and this became so prevalent that when a series actually does make Demons what they are, some people (election tourists because its what they are) get upset ... and this is why I used Frieren as a example because its popular and said people got upset when Frieren just kills then because she knows they arent going to change, its the same people that got upset with Goblin Slayer because he shows no mercy to Goblins and the series what happens when you do.
Also since Demons are supernatural creatures you have no idea about their ecology, you are applying the same principles as human society that was created based on the need of cooperation to take out larger prey as well defend its territory from threats (and that includes other groups) ... but can that also apply to Demons? if Demons are the superpredators then their society is not going to mirror human because there was never a need for cooperation beyond within their own power struggles, its similar how sharks are very much solitary hunters and before you go about sentience, primates still make groups ... there is no reason to think intelligent sharks would adapt the same societal model as humans, we are the product of evolution as well of our limitations causing us to adapt certain behaviors.
