A Persona is an overlay upon an otherwise normal person.
That person has to find a way of adjusting to the abilities and compulsions of the Persona.
Kind of like in the "I was kicked out of the Hero's Party..."slow life novel, with the Divine Protections.
So it's possible for there to be a conflict between the person and the Persona; it can be a mismatch.
Finding a way to adjust, to deal with it, so that it doesn't destroy the other sections of your life can be a trick.
That's where someone who is able to look at things from a variety of angles can be very useful; they may be able to provide a different perspective that allows you to deal.
That appears to be the role he's fallen into.
And, yes the "bad" girls do seem more like the type of person I'd want to associate with than the "Hero". And they are cute.
