Hard to tell but it could also be a sex thing i.e. they don't reproduce normally so what sex your lover is doesn't matter so even though he's a man the MC is still a potential love interest to him. I mean some of them aren't even organic, like that golem kid. I do know sometimes girls get called -kun when they're young but either way it'll be funny
