the writing of this part in the anime is a bit different. in the anime, Dou didn't immediately admit that she is a demon to Mayu. maybe the anime staffs wants to padding out the time more. but as the tradeoff, Mayu become so much stupider in the anime because he should have spot that Dou has horns, which means she is a demon from the start.
