I had hopes for the sword lady but I guess that went to shit. her reasoning for fighting with zagan is so weak it's borderline stupid. all the other characters had a good reason why they were willing to stay with him. Nephine was shown compassion and love for the first time since forever, and the person who showed it to her was someone who she thought was going to kill her. Barbaros was offered a chance to live and get stronger even after betraying zagan's trust, and our cute dragon loli was shown love and care as well. but for the swords lady it's just "oh he's lonely, he's kinda nice to me. I like him now." what the fuck? if there was a couple of chapters before this one focusing on zagan and his relationship/bond deepening between them I would maybe give it a pass but it's only been like 2 chapters. this is not good character development guys; for a manga that has amazing character development this stands out like a sore thumb and it really pisses me off
Lemme remind you that she is the first character (well, second technically) that Zagan faces in the manga (ch. 1 pg. 9). She got saved one time there, and second time during Barbaros' kidnapping.
Even if not for simping reasons, girl is feeling plenty of guilt, having told to kill Zagan while he himself is her benefactor two times. She's stumped, trying to find ways to repay the favor for months while trying not to get herself killed.
And finally, someone allowed her to fight on his side; that very someone, Nephie, even sheds light to what she actually wanted to do from the very start before she discovered it on her own. Her feelings and reasonings just to stay at Zagan's side without getting in the way between him and Nephy is very strong and finally reinforced resolved.
