He wasn't forgiven, never was it said that "I forgive you" or "you have been forgiven" nor was it implied to be, rather, his hidden motives were just laid out and his actions explained, his past is revealed and our opinions now impartial.
@sylvacoer, @xtheconman that's why we have law and punishment in human world to settle things between human and human, if the victim cannot forgive, then no matter how you repent to the God, you should be punished under legal law. yes, your sin may be forgiven in the eye of God if you feel sorry and not doing it again, and start doing better to cover up your wrongdoing in the past, but nothing can avoid legal punishment of human law. So don't worry, we have both justice in either direction (horizontal and vertical).
