will he ever understand their language? Or will anything ever be explained in this manga? I just don't know

C'mon, author, miss me with this jealous cockblocking pet crap. Make "Ryuu" turn into a slime girl attached to the MC or something. This is my fluffy vanilla manga. It doesn't need any drama.
Admittedly, though, the MC has virtually no redeeming qualities and is likely one of the most useless protagonists I've ever seen, so I'm not really comfortable rooting for him ... But as a reader I don't have any other alternative so I'll take what I can get.
(If, for some reason, you, the author, are reading this, because you know English and you like to browse through foreign comment threads, as highly unlikely as that may seem, and if you're also coincidentally open to suggestions, please improve the protagonist a little. I know he will never learn the language (I mean, look at the title), but maybe you could have him teach her his language instead, or ... Well, give us reader something to work with, because so far the protagonist is a below-average looking and depressingly lacking in initiative, not to mention unintelligent, piece of cardboard that'd be underwhelming even in a crowd of generic harem protagonists, and that's no easy feat.)

There is literally zero stuff to do.
How can you call him useless when there is nothing to do? Going by that logic, most other characters are useless too. He seems like a decent person and even tries to help Mary out with whatever there is to do.
In this story, so far, they are just chilling, there is zero conflict.
The story seems fine for me and he will learn the language sooner.
The language barrier makes isn't annoying for now too.
I doubt the pet will turn into a love rival, but I get your feel there.
I do think this story is the type to take its sweet time.

Also, he was just a normal student before he was summoned, and after he was summoned, there isn’t anything special about it, he didn’t get powers or anything. And also looks? He’s about average, not good looking but definitely not ugly (or below average).
Also, if he was an op mc who is super smart and handsome, what use would that be? Just to please people like you?

@Mizumachi Bit of a hypocritical comment here considering my own tendencies, but useful people generally do stuff to keep themselves busy, whether it's self-improvement or helping out around the house, just by instinct. This guy though doesn't do anything but hang out. We've never even seen him entertain himself, let alone be assertive about one thing he wants to do, or try to understand what's going on around him, or literally anything other than being a layabout kept man who doesn't even offer his keeper sex, words of comfort or anything other than him being there. He's just plain useless; completely unneeded when most other people would be able to offer everything he has to offer in this situation, plus a bunch of other things. He's a cute, inoffensive little boy and that's where the entirety of his value begins and ends, which is pathetic.
