She's being real smart here, not telling the readers about it. That raises the chances of success quite a bit.

I'd not be surprised if it comes to a "ha ah! it was all part of a plan to defeat you"...at this point, I have very low expectations...
Tho, it doesn't change the fact that Marco's character got dragged in the dirt and now has a value equal to -10...

I mean this is a alt ending. The LN already had a ending that is totally different. Followed by a short sequel that was setting up for a part 2. Parts of the canon story are present. But this whole thing of black coming back is manga only. They are just butchering some of the characters, Marco in particular, she was never this pathetic. She would have destroyed the body without any hesitation. Hell she wanted the MC to destroy Flames dungeon core to inherent his legacy, she would never let anything of Flames fall into enemy hands. Remember she is the beast demon lord, she is animalistic by nature, she fully follows the rules of the jungle. The strong eat the weak, and not the oppressively interpretation, but the actual nature version, the need to eat, the acceptance of death as well.
The dragons gaining the title from Caesar was a thing (yes the dragons title, not the demon lords) And they have interesting limits on their berserk. As a knight guarding his master, Enryl has a condition that he is only sane while within a set proximity to Stolas as he is always in berserk state, but when near her he gets the power but no drawbacks. Duke only enters berserk state when he takes his dragon form, he gets the full power right away, but the madness takes time to take hold, so he can use it safely in short bursts but also needs downtime in between uses, if it fully takes hold he won't recover.
But the conditions they gained this are very different.

I'll only add . This is the reason I hate this dumpster fire of an adaptation. It's really REALLY bad....then again..the LN was not that great.

I would agree if the series wasn't already coming to an end. This would have been the last arc of the first webnovel. Even then, the last few chapters were mostly wrapping up loose ends and establishing Procel as the leader of the Council of Stars.
There was a second novel, but it was treated as a stand-alone story.
