The summary gives a vague impression of being a prequel, but if so, what’s the sequel?

Firstly, you are misusing “sequel”. A sequel comes out after. The term you're looking for is “successor”. Anyway, when searching the main title on Google, videos of a mobile game with the same title come up, so presumeably this manga is a prequel to that game, assuming the description is accurate.
