School Days source material was a Visual Novel - Eroge, so you could have all kind of ends, harem end, solo end, 1 waifu end... (even there, the bad ends are many and only few are good or decent ones).

What I personally think is that in the anime they adapted the worst end or/and the worst parts of all routes?

That's why is shit, because well... that it's what they adapted basically. The worst of the worst.

But yeah, @JustCallMeDaBoss and everyone else who wants to watch it, just don't.
You don't need another, but a little "softer", 177013 in your life.

Wow. Didn't know the ending was scanlated but...thanks for finishing it! I've been following these scans for almost a solid decade. Missed a few, but will probably buy the full series some day down the road.

Only qualm with the ending is...FUCK WHERES THE MAGE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Tho we all kno she probably dead. i just wanted confirmation.

Otherwise, I'm relatively satisfied with how it ended.

Thanks again for your hard work!

I wasn't even aware that this series was updated, much less finished. It was a great manga.

@Pumpki - well, given that Mage is still writing her book, she must be alive and in the same world. Since she joined the Library clan, she probably spends most of her time in the Library.

I feel bad for head maid who continued living in the mansion, not knowing if any of the three will ever return.

For finishing the tl finally after so long.. A mega Thank You for The TL is deserved
Not a bad ending. Would be ideal if Dragon papa got to witness his daughter marrying the ubermerchant before dying. Maybe he did shame the readers didn't.

Thanks to the multiple groups over the years who worked on this series.

Overall, kinda underwhlmed on the whole thing. I liked the initial premise, but felt that the pacing was glacial. That romance tag ultimatly feels unwarranted and im not sure the hero ever even kissed the demon queen anywhere else but the forehead. I felt like everytime the two were together was wasted, and them being seperated so often was a bummer.

Also these chapters were absolutly jam packed with dialogue of characters explaing lore, world building, strategy, and its just a constant stream of over explanations. While fine at first, eventually it just became a slog midway through the series. Characters meeting up and interacting with each other just turn into people explaining plans, and I felt like all of the interesting meet ups were wasted. Even the battles that were being built up were ultimately dealt with faster than the explanations for the plans dealing with them. I dont blame any of the multiple scan groups that dropped this because theres just was to much talking here. Entire pages are just stuffy dialoge. This series has definitely made me appriacte character narration and inner monologue though, seeing this constant flow is kinda off putting when you see 50 pages and most of it is text bubbles.

The ending is aslo confussing and bittersweet. Felt bad for the maid the most due to her lonliness. And the ending either means they died, which makes no sense for hero and the queen since they looked just fine. Or they just got spit out randomly and for some unknown reason the knight is also alive and with them. Its kinda a mesy and very unsatisfying end.

Had to hunker down and just plow through the last few chapters, but I find the whole thing a let down. And thats a shame because that ealry stuff when everyone is together is stellar and the highlight of this stoy. But it ditches that way to quickly, and spirals into long periods of seperation and just wanting to see the leads together. sorry for his long rant, but I just really wanted to like this. It took me a few years of putting this down and picking it back up, and I just feel so frustrated with it all. I feel like the series is just one of the biggest wasted potentials I have read in a while.

hoooooo...

It finally ended. Huh. I thought I'd never get to finished reading it.

Not the greatest ending but I'm just glad to reach the end of it. It's definitely worth the journey.

It's agonizing to not be able to finish it because the scanlation just stops. From what I heard, the official translator just stops before the last volume.

I only managed to finish reading it by going to other agregator sites to read chapters that are not available here.

Anyways, I want to say thank you to the different scanlators for translating this series.

This was a story I remember reading as it came out, years and years ago. A fascinating premise, a really great cast of characters, a fun romance, and a really interesting world. I can honestly say it was one of my favorite stories, and stuck itself firmly into my mind.

… until the ending.

What can I even say about this ending? Over the final few chapters, the entire focus and tone of the story just… fell away. Gone are the subtle political movements. Gone is the fun happy romance. Gone are the complex character interactions. Gone is the carefully, realistically, built out world. In their place is a generic shonen storyline, with a random villain showing up at the final battle with vague, undefined powers. The cast’s storylines all just wrap up suddenly without development. And the main characters just… walk off into the sunset in either A: the afterlife or B: a different world (such as was alluded to by the villain) and that’s… just… not how the story was setup to resolve. Meanwhile the Mage seems to be alive, after clearly dying… and the head maid just lives out the rest of her life depressed and defeated?? WHY?

Ugh. Everything about the final act of this story feels rushed, unsure of itself, and filled with tropes that had not been active in the entire series up to that point and it makes me so very frustrated. Frustrated and sad. I genuinely loved this story. But with the ending as it currently stands, the entire series has left a sour taste in my mouth. I don’t think this will be a story I come back to, and I never thought I would have said that.

This was such a weird read for me. I genuinely enjoyed it. Loved the characters, the story, and the goofy fact that everyone had descriptions for names, but I almost had to force myself to read it everytime. Regardless it’s a great story that I wish had a short sequel or longer epilogue for main trio.

Damn these open endings. 😓

  • The Hero, Maou, and Female Knight seem to have been transported to an unknown world with seemingly similar features to their previous world, just without magic(?) And there, they hopefully live happily ever after as a family and have many kids? 🤔 Yeah, that must be it! 🥴
  • The Female Mage, whom I initially thought had died and whose death made me grieve, is actually still alive and currently living under the radar while publishing her novel somewhere(?)
But then, what's really going on in Chapter 57, pages 40–43? Why did the Female Mage say, "I'm still here," and, "the last object which can channel Maou's power"? Is she referring to her body or her magical power? And notice how we can no longer hear her familiar and only hear it chirping? I guess she's referring to the latter. Perhaps she did sacrifice her magical power to sustain the tower.

And then, what does the Female Mage mean by choosing the Head Maid? Choosing her to do what exactly? To accompany her after she lost her power, hopefully. Otherwise, I don't know how else to interpret that.

Okay, after some digging, it turns out the Female Mage was talking to the Demon King's power, which had nowhere else to go after the Archbishop's death, and allowing it to enter her body. And she "chose" the Head Maid to do the rest, which was to seal the Demon King's power along with the Female Mage and probably take care of her while she slumbered until decades later, when she finally awakened and resumed her novel. 😅
