I'll be honest, one look at the line-ups, and I figured they weren't going to meet in the finals, but for Rei to be wiped out instantly... damn. And a revelation that Tsujii has days where he isn't a joke character... frightening.

But anyway... even if he made it past Tsujii, Kumakura was probably going to pound Rei into the ground. And my first instinct would be to expect Harunobu to have a spirited duel with Soya, but ultimately lose, and then Shimada has another crack at the Meijin (actually, wait... who would Shimada's second opponent be? I forget, now... I'm sure they'll have something mentioned in a future chapter, anyway). Past that... well, if Tsujii's mojo sticks with him, maybe he'll beat Kumakura.

Also... yeah, Harunobu needs to keep his enthusiasm reined in, lest he overexert himself and collapse like he did in the rookie king tournament.

It’s insane how good Tsujii is on a good day, so good he blows players like souya and Rei out the water. The telepathy scene with Tanaka always kills Me, that guy is a blast. Nikaidou is on a roll, his joy for shogi is so infectious.
