Damn, it's been a while since I laughed as hard as I did at that great example of gorilla warfare.

I never knew so much humor could be mined from shogi matches.

Dang the feels on the last pages. I really wished that they expanded more on Rei's school life and there's no relationships in the matter, it's all been entirely adult/shogi/senpai related. I guess that is the point that shogi is life but dang just want some wholesome school fluff sometimes.

I know- I came to read this after watching the anime, hoping to see them growing even closer once they started going to the same high school, but they just ended up spending even less time together, it seemed, and even Rei was noting that fact in one of the chapters not too long after where the anime left off.

And one of the things that could have gotten them to spend more time together, the Shogi club, and he scared her away with how he soundly trounced that one guy that was trying to schmooze, simply because of his ferocity. Jealousy be ugly.

Hoping they work their shit out soon, because it's been nearly/about 60 chapters since they started going to the same school and certain other big events, and they're still kinda in a holding pattern with each other.

I guess that's what he got by going to a yakuza-run school: the principal and all of the other staff couldn't care less if Rei missed the whole cultural festival by first needing to teach the staff team the whole first day of the festival and then he needed to do his job on the second day. Real f*ckers, but that's what mafia is all about.
