It's unfortunate that he doesn't realize the impact he had. He's someone who's lived in a hole, wounded, the entire time. Merely
saying he has insecurity doesn't do it justice. People with such a background/history struggle to know the impact they have. I'm the same way, and I still struggle with that to this day even when people remind me day by day.

These two... crazy kids... I especially like Hina biting him to make him stop putting himself down, and then she just goes right into basically dancing with him as she talks about the other happy things that have happened. Seeing that animated in the show was really sweet.

Gotta wait a bit more... a bit more... They're not quite there yet... But it's clear he's bound to her, even more than he was before. He's fallen so much, and you can't say she doesn't greatly appreciate him, as well.

Something wonderful continues to grow here.

I haven't got any idea if there're any romantic feelings between Rei and Hina. Perhaps there aren't meant to be. Now that Hina got rid of the bullying problem, she should be quite a normal person again, but Rei has a long way to go. It's like he's seeing Hina as salvation, above all, which might even be incompatible with romance. This series does have a romance tag, though.
