a little too convenient for him to figure out its some kid's parents that he bullied that is looking to kill him. unless of course he planned this all out from the beginning because he wanted an exciting new challenge. that's 5d chess right there. and in a sick twisted way, he wins either way.

i wonder how much he rly contributed to it, i mean he prolly deserves it regardless but i wouldn't be surprised if it was like "if i wasn't rich/sucked up/stuck to this group i'd probably also be bullied so i'm not going to get involved/look the other way" or his parents being friends/business partners with ringleader's parents tho i wouldn't be surprised if there is the next flashback showing him as a shitty person in the group too
and not that he's exactly that better himself but surprised that delinquent Gyaruo would've stayed friends with her for that long seeing how shitty of a person she was since kindergarten or maybe they both bonded over being 'outcasts' lol.

i mean it is a bit amped up bc of this plot/genre but there are a dime a dozen bullying stories where it's more suffering and not so much any revenge

to be fair, okaya's definition of 'friends' is prolly as messed up as he is."We're friends dude."
would've been an interesting alternate take to the story
if everyone else was tortured, survived, saw okaya in 'trouble' and ending up betraying him in the end , if he's capable of feeling despair lol
ok so I’m pretty sure the dad knows it’s his ex wife thos this probably won’t be revealed for a bit. Here’s why I think he knows.
1. The maiden name on their marriage certificate is the same as her new identity.
2. She’s a nurse, something that the mom has verbally expressed is something she wanted to do before she had a kid. While we only saw the mom tell her kid it’s very likely that he knew this as well.
3. This might be a stretch but I’m pretty her nurse office desk setup is the same set up her son had in his room (it’s even the same desk model with a similar window placement). So he looked at the nurse room and instantly figured it out. That’s why his face is so sad
Or it just reminded him of his sons room and that’s what made him sad.
Her new appearance will probably throw him through a loop and give him doubts but will inevitably reach the same conclusion

Kinda makes sense Okaya figured out it would be Nagare's parents. They didn't only bully him, but murder him as well.
Also we're getting to the point where the manga could go really wrong if handled weirdly. But I have high hopes for our dear Maria.

i mean unless they caused the death of other students, i imagine they'd be the firstu p but i wouldn't be surprised if he also had a conspiracy theory style corkboard of all his other victims/keeping files on them for insurance/blackmail or so

He might be the only one they accidentally killed as far as we know (if the truck really was an accident), so of course his parents are gonna stand out in his mind. They're psychopaths, not stupid.

Okaya connecting the dots was foreshadowed a while back; he got questioned by Nagare's dad back in chapters 5 and 6, and when Nagare's name came up was the only time Okaya's looked somewhat worried. The dad also spilled that he was estranged from his wife but was still pining for her, and there was a whole page dedicated to Okaya observing that he was still wearing his wedding ring.
