At this point I don't expect Taiichirou to be an ally to his ex-wife's bloody quest for revenge, if/once he learns about it. Would be a nice surprise if he did, since I feel Mari could use all the help she can get, and nobody else seems more appropriate for the job than her ex-husband and father of their murdered child... but I don't see that happening while he remains a cop.
Not to mention it didn't seem like he wanted revenge over his son's death (maybe he's still unaware/skeptical of the foul play, but that's super ironic considering his job as inspector). That "we can try to rebuild everything" line seemed insensitive of him for a man who just lost his only child. He had no words when Mari mentioned their son's name. More likely he's going to be just another obstacle on her road to vengeance, sooner or later.
