People who thinks the traps are going perfectly are forgetting one thing: the house is most likely rigged to the roof with traps. Every room must have one and probably they're different each. Maria just have to lead this dumbass to the closest one or most likely to leave him in a helpless state, and if one doesn't work (like with the explosion), another one will, and another one after that until he finally breaks. It's not contrivance, it's redundance. But the darts' precision WAS a bit contrived...

I don't think those two arses are going to appear. Maria planned this with time and care; she's unlikely to overlook something as vital as leaving a GPS where it would harm her.
This. The dumbass just keep chasing her. She only need to lead him to the traps and he keep following her in a berserk rage.

Because this is a vaguely grounded story, and we're expending a lot of energy to accept the fact that a mother isn't just motivated to kill to avenge her son, but is also actively getting away with it. There does comes point where the story is too ridiculous, you know. Just because Star Wars is about magical Space Wizards doesn't mean you wouldn't ask questions the moment a big lipped alligator shows up to do a song and dance bit.
You are an extremely boring person.

It's getting harder and harder to explain why this guy is seemingly just immune to pain all this time, without any visible influence of drugs, magic or superpowers.

He's not even supposed to be able to move at all while being electrically shocked, so I'll just chalk it up to fiction, I guess. Maybe Maria's chainsaw can open him up nicely so we can better see why. Nanomachines, son

But anyway, I guess the point of his abnormal toughness is to make him seem more menacing and almost superhuman to make Maria prevailing over him seem impressive. Like a boss monster in a video game with long and/or multiple life bars to match.
