I agree. It seem to me he loved his wife more and kinda treated his son as an after thought. As far as I remember he seemed more broken up about the divorce than his son seemingly committing suicide. He was like "We don't have to get divorce let just have another kid and everything will be back to normal." I could be mistaken though. Though, honesty I just hope they don't get back together and he sacrifice himself to motivate Maria to live once more. Maybe getting together with the seemingly nice P.E teacher?
Maria deserves her second chance and her Ex husband already blew up all that, indeed, he is a shitty father AND a shitty husband, imagine telling your mourning wife the loss of her only son "hey let's not divorce let's try making another child k?" Yeaaaaah no, that's a huge red flag for me he was not even mourning his own flesh and blood, he was dreading the thought of not having to eat cooked food when coming back from work.

didn't expect another chapter so soon

lmao i know JP /korea takes weed seriously but i feel like a celeb of all ppl could easily just fly to america or another place that's legal, smoke up for a weekend, and then come back

(I half expected Maria to be like "go ahead" and have some stab proof vest under her at all times or so lol) XD
They wouldn't have law problem if they did that, yes...... but when the public of their own country knows about that...... that's when the trouble coming

Maybe you should reread Maria No Danzai? Because you’ve missed a lot of details and even started making some up. No, Taiichirou never told Maria they should have another child to replace Kiritaka. He told her they need to rebuild together because that’s what a family would do, and Maria responded, ‘Even without Kiritaka?’ It’s obviously not easy to console someone after the loss of a loved one, especially their child.

Also, he’s not aware of the real reason for his son’s death and still holds himself responsible because of the fake posts from Okaya’s group. You can criticize Taiichirou for being absorbed in his work, but we see in the flashbacks, both from Maria and Kiri, that they loved each other, and he wasn’t a toxic man, either as a father or a husband. We also see that he loved his family despite his obsession with work…

So if you don’t want to like Taiichirou, that’s your right, but at least hate him for real reasons. The other person who says Maria deserves a second chance while she herself doesn’t want one and chose not to involve Taiichirou in her revenge because she wants him to take care of Kiri’s grave… and to top it off, Maria feels absolutely nothing for the other professor. Stop shipping characters that don’t even make sense… she still blushes in front of Taiichirou, has never blushed in front of the professor, but you’re talking about shipping… I don’t like making these kinds of posts, but you don’t understand what you’re reading, and it’s a shame.

Im providing the links to support my statements, it’s not just on one page, so read the previous and next pages to better understand this time

Taiichirou thinks back to his family and the moment when Mari told him she wanted a divorce

Taiichirou thinks it’s a suicide

Taiichirou struggles to talk about his deceased son

Maria thinks that if she had told Taiichirou the truth, they would have done it together

Maria blushing in front of Taiichirou

Maria blushing in front of Taiichirou Pt 2

Maria blushing in front of Taiichirou pt 3

Sure but I meant like not necessarily going to some hookah bar or loudly bragging about it unless ppl are always doing drug tests on the way back too, tho considering men are basically forced to do 2 years of military service letting them do weed is the least they can do unless you get some monthly check/stipend even after discharge or so but I imagine ppl still work rather than “retiring” in their 20s after their service lol

That said there’s a huge drinking culture in Korea but sucky if you dislike alcohol or the hangover isn’t worth it (tho considering they have a dish literally called hangover soup I guess it’s socially acceptable to be a drunk there xP)

Yeah, they have to do drug tests once they head back. I don't get the hate for weed when all it does it just make people hungry.....

Drinking culture is huge there. I understand that it's so huge that there was a time that South Korea could out drink Russians.

This so much.

The complete lack of reading comprehension and general hate the father gets is absolutely staggering.

So you're saying it's two parties acting independently?
It's clear as day that whatever plan Okaya and his mom had blown up in their face and we have yet to see the full repercussion of it from their perspective. Taiichirou was supposed to be nothing more than a leverage over Maria and to be dispose of. Now, he's align with Maria and Okaya and his mother have shown to not be omniscient. If it was an underling, wouldn't you use this to your advantage?

No, I mean the two kids with knives might have been sent by two different people
