If there's one thing this series excels in. It's working around a dense mc and making his environment more of the focus than him. He's not all boring but the characters throughout this story and the stunts that get pulled make what would be a mid harem show turn into somewhat of a good laugh. Plus this is all in color so that's a bonus. Kanata, somebody cooked here, lol.

I was in Southern California (specifically Longbeach in the L.A. metro) on a trip a year-and-change ago, and randomly bumped into two 20-something Valley Girls and their himbo manservant at a fast food place. Their style was very much akin to Reiwa Gyaru with a touch of goth/lace. The distinct stereotypical Valley Girl dialect was in full force, including vocal fry, needless rising tones at the end of most sentences, and constant uses of the phrase "to be like" and "was all like" rather than using any specific verbs.

After reading that classic gyaru were functionally "extinct" like some lost subspecies of tiger, this felt like casually running into their saber-toothed ancestor casually chilling in the wild.
