needle wall = the "wall" of a hypodermic needle, i.e. the (usually thin, sometimes sadistically thick) metal cylindrical part that gets stuck into your body. I think the particular action Erika is referencing is some sort of SM needle-play -- basically, jabbing the needle near parallel to the skin, so the needle point goes just under the epidermis and wreaks havoc on those nerve endings. This avoids damage to muscle tissue and results in (mostly) cosmetic bruising + lots of pain.
