I find it absolutely bizarre that these guys are all adults and his wife's friend comes over to visit for the very first time and the immediate assumption is that she and her friend will stay by themselves inside her room and the husband will just do something else elsewhere in the house, rather than the three of them hanging out together. I mean, they do end up hanging out in the end because he shows up with cake, but at the start it was kinda like "well, this is her, anyway, we're shutting ourselves up over here, see ya".
